Jaime Hurley Remembers
"Gramps had a joke for every occasion. Even when he was in his last couple weeks of life. He made people laugh up until he passed.
"I was surprised at how two people who barely knew each other when they married could love each other so much. I took Gramps to the doctor several times after Granny passed away and he was always talking about her. He talked about what a great sense of humor she had.
"Everything in the house they lived in reminded him of her. He would talk about how much he missed her every time I saw him. Gramps would talk to the doctors and nurses about "his wife" as if she was still here. He knew she was gone, but I guess when you're around someone that long, it's hard to leave them behind. I guess he was telling the truth about it being love at first sight."
